How Can I Help?

How Can I Help?

Thank you for your interest in supporting ancient earthworks conservation! Please spread the word about the value of these Native American engineering marvels. Few people, even in southern Ohio, are aware of their existence, let alone their plight.

The Heartland Earthworks Conservancy (HEC) is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit public charity, so donations to it are tax-deductible. Since all HEC staff are volunteers, all donations to HEC go toward its mission and operations. HEC can receive donations directly or through two other non-profit organizations that specialize in assisting other public charities.  “Just Give” and “The Dayton Foundation” transfer your donation to HEC. They will send you a tax receipt so you will be able to deduct the donation on your income tax return. This and other free services provided by The Dayton Foundation and Just Give allow our staff to focus on our earthwork preservation endeavors.

Donate Online
Visit the HEC webpage at JustGive, an online service that facilitates secure credit card donations to HEC.
Send a Donation by Mail
Create a check written out to “The Dayton Foundation” and write “Heartland Earthworks Conservancy Fund #7239” in the check’s “memo” line. Mail it to:
Heartland Earthworks Conservancy Fund
c/o The Dayton Foundation
40 North Main St., Suite 500
Dayton, OH, 45423

If you would prefer to donate directly to HEC or have any questions about donating to the Heartland Earthworks Conservancy, please send an email to director(at)earthworksconservancy(dot)org  (Please use the @ symbol and a period in the appropriate places in parentheses. Unfortunately we cannot put them in or link you to this email address without internet trawlers sending us tons of junk mail.)

All of our staff members are volunteers and we can always use more help. Please write us at the above email address if you are interested in talking to us about volunteering your time and talents toward earthworks conservation.

Thank you for your support!
